Coilies on order, what else?
« on: 29 April 2006, 09:13 »
Just ordered some FK Konigsport coilovers from Venom with just the slightest suggesion from Neaty  I'm far too impulsive when it comes to getting what I want!!

I have sitting waiting to be fitted brand new wishbones with poly bushes, track rod ends, ball joints and engine mounts.  The coilovers are on order (within 10 days apparently but will be a bit more forgiving with it being bank holiday weekend) so what else would I need? top mounts maybe?

Cheers

Ian

G60 top mounts, £10 a side from GSF so that's them getting bought after the bank holiday weekend.

She's gonna be a completely different car to drive by the end of the month, hope everything goes well

I'm going to be doing the pipes and getting braided hoses before the test (they always seem to fail brake pipes and wheel bearings on the MK2 Golf ) so this time I'm going to be going into the test with it all done

I have seen a brake conversion kit but I'm not sure I want to do this.. yet.  It will have to be done eventually but if I do a big brake conversion now it'll mean that I also have to buy new bigger wheels now and at the moment I've spent more than I want to pay back lol.

Maybe once the credit card is cleared again, I just don't know what order to do things anymore lol.

Jobs currently ongoing:

New Coilovers
New top mounts.
New wishbones, poly bushes.
New ball joints.
New track rod ends.
New solid front engine mount.
New G60 rear engine mount.
New brake pipes and braided hoses.
Re-built 2.0 bottom end.
EDIT: Replacement 16 rear lenses.

Future jobs to do:

Full re-spray inside and out in a nice deep dark blue that I've seen with a silver flip effect
Interior is to complete
CarPC to be bought/built/installed
New Alloys
Bigger Brakes
Short-shift gear linkage
EDIT: Crystal front lights
EDIT: De-badged grill.

and I'm sure that the list will no doubt expand as the project progresses.

I used to be into my motorbikes so don't drink at all as with the bike one drink and you wouldn't want to risk riding, guess this stuck when getting into cars too

a)  I'll definately be skint for a few months but I'm not on a badly paid job, computer programmer, so £22k/pa.

b) My daughter was born March 26th, I'm already knackered!!

c) Couldn't ask for a better girlfriend.  She bought my engine for the conversion for my birthday and is helping me where she can towards any other parts I need as she knows as I do that by the end of it all the Golf is gonna be solid.  Pretty much everything will be new, so reliable, which is the main thing when we've gotta get about with our new daughter
