Hi all, names Adam and i'm a motorcycle insructor in kent, age 32 i also part own a company that specialise in trips to the nurburgring!

Just getting myself a 1992 16v golf gti , hopefully will have it tommorow but probably friday.

its oak green and done the usual 140k but i'm buying it from a bit of a gti nut so its been well looked after.

He's got a whole lot of ICE in there but he wont sell it! so got to wait for him to strip it out before i can have it.

so first question,

Car is in very good order new shocks (standard etc) good tyres, and i have £500 ,whats the first thing i should spend the money on?

i will be using this car on the ring so i would imagine handling mods first? suspension? and i so what sort , dont need flash stuff but dont want budget crap either.

Or a set of 16" wheels to replace the standard bbs alloys?

Cheers

ADam

Trying to get a reasonable european breakdown recovery service, but having trouble finding a decent one.

Any one have any recommendations?
