Anyone around Oxford know of any VW specialists?

I'm looking for somewhere that can replace the bushes on my gear linkage on a mk2 around Oxford. I've got the car up here with me at the moment but finding 1st is a bit hit and miss and there is a fair bit of play too. I would do it myself but don't have any tools up here with me or anywhere to do the work apart from in the road! ANy help would be appreciated, cheers.

hi mate. used to live in oxford when i was at uni. used to live on Valentia Road (no. 105). anyway, opposite 105 a guy called Vince runs his own garage, he used to be involved in the scene years ago and built some pretty amazing cars back when it was all new to the scene (i.e VR's in mk1s and mk2's etc) so he knows what hes doing. top bloke to. just go round there and talk to him, hes very reasonably priced and well respected - as a result he is normally fully booked months in advance. however, im sure as its a quick job and its a VW he ll sort you out

Valentia Road..... is that the one near Gypsy lane yeah? Is it an actual garage down there or is that just his house? Anyway, I'll get down there after lectures tomorrow if its the road i'm thinkin of. Are you the chap that went to Brookes that i had a quick chat to last year on here about semesters? That might sound a bit random if it wasn't you but cheers anyway!

ahahaha not sure if it was me mate you chatted to about semesters - cant remember yesterday let alone last week! yeah it just off Gypsy lane (drive past with brookes on your right), left at crossroads with traffic lights then first left into Valentia Road. his is the first house on the left  directly opposite my old sh!thole of a house (no. 105). its his house but he runs his own business from it, if you walk up to his porch there's a leaflet in the window saying the name of his business....think its 'Vince of Oxford' or something cheesey like that. top bloke like i said before....you may have trouble gettin hold of him hes always well busy!!!

Did I see your car parked up by morells halls a few days ago??  If so your exhaust looks a bit wonky

That'll be the one! My exhaust came off where the front silencer joins the downpipe but its sorted now, although maybe still slightly wonky. You at brookes then?
