debadged grill
« on: 24 April 2006, 21:50 »
Hi there i want a debadged grill for my driver as you prob know it has 4 lights but i much prefer the debadged grills with the 2 lights like this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-MK2-2-II-Debadged-Grill-Badegless-High-Quality_W0QQitemZ8058043276QQcategoryZ23009QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

is it possible to get rid of the 2 inner lights?

Yep just unplug them - though if they worked you'll be wondering what happened to main beam. If your going that route get some quality bulbs and an uprated headlamp loom. The wiring for the headlamps is tosh and you'll only be getting 10V at the lamps on a good day. The uprated loom are a straight fit and restore the full 12V - essential if you've dumped the spots - they are alway for sale on ebay.

Maybe it's just me, but on a classic motor like a Dub Mk2, I'd keep the badge.

Not least to make sure the car in front KNOWS what's about to overtake it

ED: p.s. Neaty is absolutely right about clean lenses... They make a huuuuge difference! I do a fair bit of motorwaying and I'm often stopping half way (50-70 miles or so) to give them a wipe.
