DSG Gearbox Question
« on: 21 April 2006, 22:00 »
Hi all!
Well ive cancelled my GTI order from a stealer and gone with an import (uk spec). I was just wondering about a few things with the DSG gearbox that ive ordered...

    1. Does the DSG gearbox kickdown sensors work in all modes? i.e. does it automatically change down in "manual" paddleshift mode? Or is it just in D mode?

    2. Does it automatically upshift in all drive modes at the red line?

Cheers guys!

Just been asking the misses, my own DSG guru

1 - yes

2 - yes but it's held for lnoger and goes further in 'sport' mode..

This is on the A3 and I will go and confirm laters  :nerd:

Drove a normal (old) automatic 4X4 at the weekend - it was really smooth etc but doesnt have the involvement of the manual - im hoping that the dsg has the best of both worlds!
