Focus = Fun. Not serious bit of engineering. My mates just bought an RS, he wanted a fast car and got a good deal on one. He is a big German car fan and never thought he would by a ford. But it not a serious car, as he has, you would buy it to have fun for a year and then sell it. Tis one of the most fun cars i've ever driven!

Some people say the ford ka is a roller skate. Personally i believe it looks like a shoe horn! Those things that assist your foot getting into a new shoe... thats the ka design brief!

My opinion. I owned a ford escort. I would never own a ford again, not after owning a VW. As an example the cam belt tensioner in a ford is a small nylon plastic wheel with a metal bush and a brass spring, prob weighs about 100 grams. I'm sure its sufficient. In a golf the cam belt tensioner is made of mild steel, weighs about 1.5lbs is full of steel bearings has no plastic parts and closely resembles the pullies they have guiding tank tracks.

Both these parts do the same job. Nuff said!

I would love a three door cossie (the original whale tail jobbie) and am considering one as a track day car for next year, but that is the only ford (RS Focus included) that I would consider owning.

Having owned them and driven them as company cars in the past I can say, hand on heart, that they really don't float my boat.

The greatest leveller of them all - the Carousel

Have to say that a focus does move quicker than i expected it to with it being a "family car",as i say.B/f got an escort rs turbo(don't say out '6) n i reckon its canny.Least i can mend bits on that rather than me golf.....perhaps cos his always breaks down,ha ha!
I still prefer me golf, only hav a ford if it was a puma racing!
