all the hard work has finaly paid off!i tried to tow my golf last night in the hope it might have started???no such luck!just befor my mate left he said that he would come saturday morning and sort it for me so i thought bugger it im gonna ave another look it has to be staring me in the face?
i made sure that the bottom end was tdc and that the rotor are was pointing to plug number one.as soon as i had removed the rocker cover sure enough it was staring me right in face!i had got the valve timing 180 degrees out!
once i had turned the cam shaft to where it need to be put the the belt back on and put it all back together im rememberd somethink i had been told,turn ignition on and turn dizzy until it clicked and then turn it back abit?
?so i did!
i turned the key and?
?BRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMM SHES RUNNING AT LAST!!!
i hope the people that helped me with this rebuild read this thread as i would like to thank you alll very very much.its been a journey since it popped the day befor spring gti and since then ive dropped the engine rebuilt it and put it back in on my own without any lifting aquipment it wasnt easy but it was possible i will post some pics of my nicely painted and cleaned engine very soon.ps again many many thanks heres coming at ya jonny!
