BLIMEY!
« on: 20 April 2006, 21:14 »
It's built

Got a call from the dealer today and should be getting the motor in a couple of weeks    not bad when you consider we wern't meant to have it until the end of June!

So what price GAP and Supaguard fellas?  Dealers talking £400 for GAP and £300 for Supaguard?

Only issue for the misses is she can't drive it for a couple of months due to a foot operation   Oh well I guess I'll be running it in and having the fun

Anyone want a 3.2 V6 Audi A3 S-Line Quattro with DSG?  On a '04 and loaded with extras.....  16.5K would do it so the dealer doesn't take it....

We got quoted exact same prices, didn't go for GAP

Hmmm, if only I had that spare stack of £16.5k lying around, that would be a perfect replacement for the daily runner

- don't you feel you're downtrading in any way from a perceivedly "better" marque, and higher spec car, to the GTI?

Hi ladees!

Alex, lots of the bods that work with the misses have asked the same question!  My opinion and the misses opinion are the same in that we both are won over with the fantastic drive and feel of the VW, the R32 and Gti both feel so alive and alert.  The Audi is a fantastic motor but it doesn't ask any questions from the driver, i can drive the A3 over any road at any speed and it just does it!!!  That's great but I need   more involvement and enjoyment, also I don't like the A3 seats at all!!  Being 6'3" I need more shoulder and lumbar support, the golf offers great support in all areas.   The misses only concerns are missing Q drive and the BOSE stereo!  She has specced the RCD 500 with Soundpack and head unit CD, hopefully that will do the job.  The whole badge thing is irrelevant IMHO, the GTi and R32 have a very good reputation among those in the know!  The rest, well they can stay driving their Beemers and be happy

Doc, the spec goes like this........

Golf GTi DSG 3dr
Graphite Blue
Leather
Xenons
Armrest
RCD 500 with soundpack
Multi CD in head unit
Cruise Control
And even managed to get £250 off,   :smug:

You wont be disapionted with the GTI.  Like yourself matt, mine came early (wednesday not middle of May) and is now sitting on my drive looking awesome.  Get the autoglym and the offer doc has said is good value. I would Have took up Docs offer if I already hadnt asked the dealer to do it for me.  If you've already paid for a good chunk of the cars value with your own readies then I would'nt go for the GAP insurance.

This is gonna be a long week for you matt.

Doc, can you take off your Black 3-door GTI from your signature as it is causing me a lot of physical pain just looking at it....  You can put it back on when I get my Black 3-door GTI next week   By the way, it was Royal Mail that screwed up and now I am going to screw them for compensation.  But can they give me back the week I have lost without the GTI?  Nope.   How much is that worth?  Priceless.

Sorted!  All the finance details were sorted this afternoon and I'm now one happy cookie, the misses is not so happy as she'll not be driving her motor for atleast 8 weeks!!!   I'll just have to take her out for a drive everyday, i'm sure with the seat right back and down she'll get in with the foot in plaster

As the PX on the A3 has gone up a little we've gone for both GAP and Supaguard, chucking it on the finance doesn't make to much difference and it'll make life easier should the worst happen.......

So now it's sit back and wait until i get the number plate retention forms back!!

Golf GTi DSG 3dr
Graphite Blue
18" Monzas II
Leather Trim  (Anthracite)
Bi-Xenons
Armrest
RCD 500 with soundpack plus
Multi CD in head unit
Cruise Control
Supaguard

Roll on
