Golf Rear Wipers?!!?!!!??!!?!!

How do you stop them with out turning the engine off!!?

Fors years both myself and my brother have never worked it out, it seems to be on  all the golf we have had that you cant stop the rear wiper once it has started!?

Mine have always worked fine. You push back to start it. Then you push back again when you want to stop it. And you can hold it pushed back to squirt the window and do a continual wipe.

Thats odd.

When i push forward it starts and continues, if i push forward again it just wipes again will not stop.  This has happened on my Mk1 my brother MK2 8v and his VR6 and my Mk2 Driver! i am i going crazy
