Project golfs in the making . . . .
« on: 18 April 2006, 11:35 »
Well we thought we better give you some background on ourselves as we didnÂ’t want to come across as any Joe soap that is out there selling golf bits.  Myself (Kris) and a friend (James) have recently bought a few very good condition mk2 golfÂ’s. To do a few subtle conversions if you know what I mean.  I already own a mk2 golf 16v conversion that I have done myself.

I have been in to the VW scene for quite a while and have owned many VwÂ’s, a mk2 jetta 16v when I was younger, mk1 golf GTI, mk2 golf 1.8 driver.

I landed on a mk2 which needed a bit of TLC and was a real bargain (albeit it was a 1.8GL auto 4 door) after my friend James had a go in my 16v conversion he was hooked and we managed to pick up another mint mk2 golf driver (4 door) after a lot of umming and arring he decided he wanted a 3 door.  After all of an hour looking he landed on a mint k reg 3 door mk2. (Jammy get)

We had a nosey around it and really got it for a lot less than it was worth.

My plans were to drop a 16v I have acquired in to the 4 door after the engine had received some work and a supercharger just for good measure.  The body work will be smoothed off and will look clean with no plastic arches and side trims.

Although JamesÂ’s plans are a bit more ambitious and he is planning a full VR6 conversion as well as other little tweaks he and there.

Rather than go through all the hassle of e-bay (and some idiots on there that use it) we decided to knock up our own web site to sell on the spares that we have and bits we have removed from the car we donÂ’t need or use and we can keep adding updates on the conversions.

I plan on doing some step by step instructions on some things and offering to do some conversions once we have got ours going and know the ins and outs of what needs to be done.

I will be at as many shows as i can this year with a few friends that have golfs unfortunately my daily runabout isn't up to show standards

If you need any help or parts feel free to contact Kris or James.  DonÂ’t worry we are nice blokes (well IÂ’m not too sure about james he is grumpy)   :o)

sounds like it could be a usefull site for spares.... if the projects are well documented it could become one of those invaluable places for info! good luck with it all!

got plenty of spares and plan to sit down and write down everything that has been done.  We are just setting out and stripping every thing off the car ready for a full body re-spray
