blue temp sender

decided to change this temp. sender...problem is the one thats in the car already looks different to the new blue one....do i have the right part?

Ok there are 2 ecu senders depending on the age of the car, the early ones were single pin the late ones are 2 pin.  Also the sender design has changed, the one I bought looked different. It was a darker blue, and the metal bit that goes in the coolant had a recess underneath rather than mostly flat on the old one.

I had the same thing.....I bought a 2 pin that was darker but works OK

ok thanks for the info....i'm trying to upload pics to show excactly what i've got......my original sender is cream coloured,when i detach the connector there are two pins inside. the new one is blue with the same two pins, plus the connector fits on this fine. the difference is in the diameter of the part of the sender which fits inside the coolant neck...the blue one seems fatter and there isn't any screw thread... any help for uploading pics..please

yep you defo have the early tipe, the later ones dont screw in!  I thought the early ones only had 1 pin, perhaps thats k-jet ones I'm thinking of.  Either way, you'll have to take it back and exchange it!
