check the rubber seal along the top of the engine bay, if it has shrunk move it to the right so it seals up on the passenger side of the car, since this is where the fresh air intake is.

I get a fuelly smell but only when I open the window, not in the cabin. It does it when I'm on the move, so not coming from the exhaust. I get good mpg so I'm a little perplexed by it.
