Spark Plug removal on a 16v

one thing i have had to do so far is change the plugs

how the f**k do u get them out, they are that far recessed down into the head!!

Have you got the spark plug socket. It has a rubber inner surrond that catches the spark so you can pull it out.

Put a rubber grommet in the socket and the spark should hold into the socket and come out.

no, ive no plug spanner as yet

All you need is rachet, spark plug socket and a extension bar. Just make sure that you thread the new plugs in by hand(with the extension bar), then give a tweak with the rachet. This avoids cross threading them.

If you think the 16v is a pain, then try and change the plugs on a vr6. There is supposed to be a tool that comes with the car to do it, but mines not there. I used a very long thin set of pliers to remove the HT leads instead.

The 24 valve lump is better , 204 BHP. But the old AAA lump is still sh!t hot.
