whats a good guide price for a mk2 driver auto??

can anyone tell me what's a good amount to spend on a 3dr mk2 driver auto??

they are usually mint. i had one and it was mint with 66000 on the clock till i crashed it. i paid 1850 for it about 3 yrs ago go for the 1500  mark i would for a decent one. got one in mind? and if you dont mind me asking why an auto?

Certainly not son. i Have a disability which means i can an auto with adaptions. had caddy with intention of going auto but truck was very rotten had a 5door mk2 cl a while back but sold it i hadnt passed my test. no preference to colour miles around 110k couldnt care about loads just as long as i know aint been absolutly pillaged lol

yep i got you, there is a history of disabilities in my family so know all about adapted cars lol. driving with hands is good tho maintains independence!

golfs are good above 100k i had one did 223k before it died, my current one is on 136k so look for service history ( not necessarily main dealer) and as long as you keep on top of regular oil changes/cambelts etc etc they will service you well for years to come. my auto driver was a 1.6 and drove lovely, 3dr dragon green i was third owner.  autos are available in 1.6 and 1.8 flavours both carbed. although if you wanted i cant imagine it would be hard to convert to kjet injection or do an engine swap its just wheter the auto box could handle the extra power

I hear that i give my 05 polo some grief lol. i got a mechanic who got my old mk2 mot ready i reckon service every 6 months i will prob get 1.6 as only 20 but get rid of that pierburg 2e2 lol

yeah lol of get it rebuilt. the dodgyest bit about the pierburg is the auto choke i found. where are you in the country?

loads come up on autotrader starting at 300 quid and going up to 1600 quid wont be to hard to find a good one i dont reckon
