« on: 07 May 2003, 00:22 »
HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY IDLING.

IF THE IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT SCREW MOVE BY ABOUT 2mm FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND UP AND DOWN

1: IS THIS NORMAL?

2: WOULD IT CAUSE A PROBLEM WITH THE IDLING WHEN ENGINE IS COLD?

HOPE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE SOON

screw shouldnt move, not up and down! this could effect the idle....but 2mm is nothing so just could be wear and tear....have u turned palying around with the idlw screw? c if that helps!

Check your chokes are clean,etc...I had the same problem..just cleaned the air and everything in that area!!

gud look :o

i've read somewhere that this idle air adjustment screw has a seal and if it is loose like that the seal is bad. it's worth checking out. hope this is of some help.

if you have movement then you have a air leak!! and yes this will alter your idle, there is a o-ring seal on your idle screw, thats either badly worn or the screw is out to far ,"un screwed from the throttle body" you really need to set the idle up correctly,
get the engine to normal temp ! un clip the spade connector under coil, take off the electric connector to your isv, pull of the crank hose where it attaches to your air box and plug hole, then your revs should plummit ,
adjust idle on idle screw to around 1000 rpm +-50,if in doubt put some grease in around idle screw ,connect all back up and bob should be your uncle.if that still does not work you have air leak else wear ,"happy hunting"
