havent enough experience with anything other than front really.. i keep hearing "bad things" (tm) about some rear wheel drive cars, particularly in the wet..

the only rear wheel drive car i've only driven is a mk2 mr2 t-bar when i was thinkin of getting one, it was quite good, but that was in the height of summer with the roof off :)

i'm voting FWD atm..
Used to have a '97 MK3 16v GTI 3dr in 'Black Magic'... now have a '55 Civic Type-S...

With a name like oversteer i thought you'd be into rearwheel drive!!

I guess its what you're used too. Front wheel drive scares me with the understeer you can get!

:P

guess i'm just used to understeer...

driving a mid engined rwd is quite fun :)  but as i was only on a test drive i didnt throw it around much.. my passenger at the time claimed he could feel the way it handled more.. i felt a lot lot more comfortable + confident with my golf when i first took it out

Thats the thing. My Golf scares the sh!t out of me.

The car i had before was a Nissan 300ZX. Front engine rear wheel drive twin turbo with over 300hp!! But i knew where i was with it, used to get a tiny bit of understeer on corners which you could correct with more or less  throttle.

Is 4 wheel drive that much better?

Isnt it a compromise with the extra weight involved?

4 wheel drive provides the most grip, and faster 0-60 times.
