Thanks for all the replys, as I said its my second Golf (my first being a 89 black 3 dr 16v, owned for 5 years and written off by a dick head in a van !) and its a 91 "J" plate 5 dr 8v GTI in tornado red with the original steel GTI wheels. Its got a few gremlins but nothing I cant sort out given time and on the whole its a lovely little car, I'm not sure weather to start adding things like BBS's, smoked lenses and half smoked rear clusters or maybe its best just to keep it in completely standard form, only time and my cash flow will tell but its good to be back in a golf !
P.S I'm from Kingswood in Bristol, anyone else in this neck of the woods ?
