« on: 25 March 2006, 18:20 »
Easy to fit or not? Anything i need to swap over? or is it just a case of whip the clocks out, disconnect rethread through the bulkhead, and reattatch?

I had 3 from GSF and they all failed, I some how ended up with 2 original ones. Give us a shout if you require it anyway. It is pretty straight forwards. Clocks out with connectors off and vacuum hose (can be a bugger getting back in).

Well after a few hours sitting outside me work ( i was missing a few certain tools) i have done it, as suspected it was easy, although time consuming, and having big hands is not always a benefit believe me. Think i need to take it all off again at some point though as it is clicking when it spins, so i am not sure i have attatched it completely. But that can wait for another day, at least i can tell how fast i am going now.

Hi Slick,
Have you soted your ticking clocks yet ?
Mine drive me crazy
my garage told me to drip oil in the cable at the gearbox end and let it work it up to the clocks, it worked for a week or so but know its as bad as ever.
Any tips?

nope you are not meant to grease the cable at all.

Mine is just loose on the back of the clock. It's hard to hear sometimes but if you know what you are looking for then it's easy. It's a pig to get behind the clocks if you have big hands, but it is possible, albeit with a few cuts and scrapes.

I will take mine off again sometime this week and get it re-attatched properly.

Thanks,
I'll wait a while as yesterday I ripped my hands to shreds fitting a new sunroof seal.
I forgot to pull the inner roof forward when re fitting, so it got wedged right at the back and took ages and lots of skin to fish out  :embarassed:
