my mk1 golf gti

ok heres a pic of my mk1 golf gti i brought on monday for £400 :evil:


























as you can see the rear has been primered guy said it had a hit so its been repaired, the back lights aint work cause theres no bulbs but on 1 side there is no bulb holder where can i get hold of one of these, am going to be replacing all the suspension,brakes, wishbones hubs etc then strip it down on the outside an get it resprayed tell me what you think

Looks like a bargain. For your bits and bobs you can try VW as they do carry some of the stock, failing that try scrappers, this forum and other places like GSF.
......now officially dubless.

well the guy i got it off was saying its a 1600 but when i did a dvla check on it it says it is a 1781cc just waiting for log book to come to comfirm

only one way to truly check mate, look at the bottom end of the engine and you should see either 1.6 or 1.8 on the block itself... :)

Bargain at 400 by the way... keep us informed of how you get on.. you might also want to have a look at this club/forum they only focus on mk1's only - http://www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk
