Exhaust gargle
« on: 22 March 2006, 12:24 »
On the GTI's (especially with Stainless exhaust) seem to gargle.
Is this to do with the Throttle body?
How can i make the same effect gargle noise from a Driver?

Yeah got straight through Stainless Steel Exhaust.
Tis loud(ish) but the wrong note, if that makes sence?!
If you hear a Driver with loud exhaust it sounds like any other 1.6 Saxo, etc,
If you hear a GTI with loud exhaust it makes a throaty noise!

could be to do with the bigger valves in the head?? i dunno to be honest, might be the twin down pipe. my gti sort of 'throbs' if you know wat i mean, its a low sort of throbbing exhaust note.

Probally just the system mate, I have a powerflow system on my 1.6 and its loud, very loud, but also very deep, If you take the backbox off the car and it still sounded exactly the same, I like it because its the engine making that noise not the exhaust if you get what i mean?  It also gargles, but thats probally becasue its over fueling.

hahahaha fielders a c**k. sorry but he is just a tit. What a waste of forum space for that moron.

 I snapped the downpipe at the manifold once - it was so loud you almost couldn't hear it
