piece of cake to change m8y,

ebay is probably your best bet to pick one up quite cheap though....

to change it all you need to do is get the boot up and over the gear knob, undo the clasp (pliers work best) and remove...(as Haynes says......) refitting is reversal of removal

:undecided: or you could try Haynes for a better explaination  :undecided:

hope it helps bud

 the clasp holds the gaitor (aka boot) on to the gear stick, so you have to remove this inorder to get the boot off.

the clasp also forms a seal or 'hold' which stops the gear knob fallin off in your hand everytime you change gear.

once you got the boot inside out you'll see what you have to do to get the clasp off

ok so what i do then as if am doing this for real, and sorry if i sound dumb.

i prieze the clips holding the bottom of the leather thing down to the consol off using a flat headed screwdriver i then pull it up and over the actual gear nob.

then since it is still attached to the bottom of the gear nob...  u cant pull it off  right? so what u do is cut the hose clip thing off then it comes off? right?

then the bit am confused with do u now pull/yank the gear nob off for some reason and then get ure new leather sh!t and pull it up and under the new nob fasten the clip on and push the base to the console bit at the bottom and ure sorted or do u hve to take the gear nob off and do summot else.

sorry for acting dumb, in ure answer can  u please use dumb language , like "leather sh!t" " nob"  "hose pipe" instead of technical terms like clasp gaitor etc sorry. am pleading ignorance here.

yeah, basically what you just said, is how i'd do it.

as soon as you take the clasp off (and you'll probably break it...i did, replace with a small cable tie) the leather sh!t should come off too, along with the gear knob.

its really easy if you got it in front of you, honest..just get the clasp off and your home and dry.
