I popped onto their site once or twice when i was first looking for info on golfs.. did a search... only places i  could find were Vortex, CGTI and GolfGTI.co.uk - In the end i decided to go with this site purely because it seemed to have the right community feel, and i dont regret it at all* and would make the same decision again!.

*except for when dinx bullys me because im different :(

tbh i only check in on the CGTI website every now and again, coz i'm a paid up member... :embarassed: and i like to keep an eye on whats going on! but i never post anything on there coz they don't really like newbies! especially newbies who don't know as much as them about the inner intricate working of their cars!!  :undecided:

I've been a member of Club GTI for around 4 years and don't  have any issues. I Suppose I'm really lucky as we have a really good regional club here in Newport, with Gaz and Velly running it. We always have loads of fun at the shows and there are certainly no attitudes at our meets, it's just all about having a laugh. We often meet up at the shows with the E1K boys too and we all usually camp together when we can.

I don't use the Club GTI forum, I use to go on there a lot, but I couldn't access the forum from work for a long time so I joined this forum instead. I've got to know a lot of quality people on here and it's such a great forum, that's why I've stayed on here rather than going back to the Club GTI forum. Like Han said, one forum is enough for me

I try and stay out of the 'your club is sh1t' arguments and just enjoy the dubs and the shows

I don't think the club is sh!t, i think the people running it are, and 90% of the people on there need an attitude replacement. But hey thats just me.

I've never been involved in the running side of things, so I wouldn't really know on that front. I'm sure Gaz will sort em out

I wasn't having a dig at you Slick  I know you had a falling out with people running it and that must have been really frustrating for you, but some people just seem to judge the club purely on the forum or what they have heard about Club GTI members from other people. Like I said I'm lucky we have a good local club with good people there.

The meets are only about a 2 min drive from my house too

I agree the community spirit over there is none existant, I used to visit it quite regularly (was member here first and i can manage way more than one forum) and I used to see someone off there and I do have quite a few members on my msn list (ive no idea who is off which forum anymore cos all my chums) but I do agree they all seem to be idiots with the wrong attitude abouts cars, people etc. However, if I ever get stuck with somet on the car generally I ask Diz, then when he doesnt know (quite regular tbh!! ) I use their search function to check whether its been posted about before coming back here and posting. Ive never had to post here after a search because Ive always found the answer to my question and thats the only reason I visit the forum anymore. All the forums are different, I  go on all of them for different reason.

I found You do have to contribute alot on cgti, then you get the help you need, I find the guyz on there very valuable and very helpfull! As i do here, but this is a much more friendly place where as on cgti it's a bit more technical, half of the threads i have no idea what they are talking about LoL

The site was painfully slow and the search function was buggered, hopefully that will be sorted in the re-launch!

Enjoy both if you can!!!
