Are the gearboxs the same on the 1.8 and 2.0?

Is it just drop the engine in or do you need to do some mods get it to fit?

my mates as just had a 9a with a stage 3 tuned kr head fitted in his corrado, it did hav a 1.9 with same head running 160-170 hp but the cam shells went so found a 9a engine and swapped it over
