Telephone Preparation - Any good?

I have just ordered a gti with telephone preparation, but the dealer doesn't seem to know much about it? Can anyone tell me if it's any good? Can you dial through the multi function steering wheel? or see your contacts on the screen on the dashboard? Is the sound quality any good?

Sound quality is fine. You dial using the phone I believe and can hang up using the button on the wheel. The only problem i've come up against time and time again is the availability of phone cradles is quite limited (hopefully your dealer mentioned that you'll need to pay another 70 (i think) quid for the cradle relevent to your phone. If you like state of the art phones, you may not be able to get the cradle for it.

The great thing though is that every time you change your phone, you can buy the cradle without forking out for a whole new phone kit.
