hi carpet monster, hows life after the big breakfast? do you miss jonny and denise? :P  can only really get away with -40mm springs on original shocks, so your best bet is to buy a set of lowering shocks and springs. on here alot of people reccommend the bilstein/ventura set up from www.eurocarparts.com which is just under £200 but is very good. only a -40mm drop but its done very well.
or look at venom's website (google it) as they do -60mm or -80mm kits which are pretty good -40 or -60 is probably the best bet for daily use.
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post

Guys,

Similar question for me too - just painted gti steels for my jet project - purchasing the bilstein/ventura set up hopefully sometime soon - but need tyres for the steels for use now - what would you guys suggest for a 14" daily driver tyre with a view to lowering 40mm?  185 60's on the bbs ra's at the mo . . . . . what combinations?

Help greatfully  received!

Si.
