Time to own up
« on: 12 March 2006, 02:11 »
Ok, since going from the recent threads, many of you have owned Nova's and Fords before, so it's time to come clean and tell us what's the worst or chaviest car you've owned?

Personally, I've only ever owned VWs (5 so far), but when I first passed my test, I used to drive my parents 1.4i Astra estate. Plenty of fun had racing round to the cinema at midnight with mates to catch a late movie.

This is a tough one for me to admit, but i use to own a....Ford Mondeo Estate...  :embarassed:  lol
My pops convinced me to buy it as he said it was "practical" as i had a dog and horses at the time...i have to admit having an estate was handy at times....but one Monday morning about 9am i was filling it up with petrol and went to pay and the attendant said to me "oh you on the school run this morning then"...  he actually thought because of the estate and the time of the morning, that i was a mum on her way back from dropping her kids off... I was gutted  that very morning i put it up for sale and sold it within 2 days
I went straight out and brought my 205 GTI

I think my worst car has to be a Ford Escort Mk4 XR3i cabriolet.  I'd sold my Sierra Cosworth and took it in part exchange   Done the deal in London.... drove it about 30mins of the way home, just got onto the M25 when the gearbox broke and I was left with just first and second gear!!

When I did finally get it running again I used to drive it round with the for sale sign in the window, with the roof down.... but it was January and freezing!  But I hadn't had a cabriolet before.... and never want one of those again.  A truly pants car.
(This was about 7 years ago so don't hold it against me!!)

I thought that was written off? hence the threads about a cab.

Only owned VWs so far, 1300, 1800, 2000cc.  All mk2's aswell.

Although i have driven a load of my mates cars, ranging from an old Escort mk3 Estate (Ex Army car) to a rover 214i, to a Honda CRV. Honda wasn't bad.
