chineese door handles from ebay????mr rabbit??
« on: 08 March 2006, 10:09 »
time to have a real good rant!

i purchased a set of four pull handles from mr rabbit off ebay for my car explaining to him it was a four door and i wanted all the handles to be delocked.i got them in quick time but when i went to fit them it came apparent that they wouldnt work the fronts as you have to use the front door mech on the back door handle which is how mine are at the mo!so i mailed him explaining this and i got a reply stating that yes i was correct in what i said and that i could buy the correct mech that i would have to fit myself for a fiver?bearing in mind i had already told him what i wanted and what i needed???

anyway i sent him a mail saying yes i would like to buy these bits and have resent it five times since, tried calling the number that hes left for contact and he dosent answer it!
so now i have four handles that i have paid £40 for and cant fu#king use them!this has been going on for over a week.what sort of buisness is he running??!he had already been told why i wanted  rear handle for so why didnt he just send what i needed.

well how silly do i feel now that 1 person has read this?ive just had a mail from this guy with the link to buy the parts i needed.i have now paid for them and i hope they turn up soon.my advice now is to make sure you tell your supplier ten times what you need befor paying for it and dont expect them tyo just know.if i get these bits with in a couple of days i will retract this whole thread and eat my hat!

i have them too, i like how they look but....and this may just be me, they don't quite fit properly,if i do up the screw that goes on the inside of the door tight then it doesn't spring back and if i loosen it abit then it becomes apparent that i could probably pull the whole handle off with abit of force, i may go back to standard ones with door plates............. plus these handles seem abit tacky

I've added this to my five door recently too.
The front door handles (not delocked) came from a different guy, not Mr Rabbity and have worked a treat as I was fed up of the bloody trigger. Ordered them before chrimbo, and just two weeks ago ordered rear ones, but that same guy isn't selling them anymore so ordered from the rabbity geezer. They took a week to arrive but have out them on and they work fine too.

Haribo - The only thing i've noticed was that the bolt to attach them to the door is a fraction too long. So when you bolt it up tight it must be touching the handle mechanism, as when you fractionally loosen it the door works fine. What I did was use the washer that came with the new handle and the washer from the original door handle, and nip them up tight - no loose movement and the correct free handle movement to open the door.

Silkyballs - Mr Rabbitty usually has an ad for a pair of delocked handles for £30 doesn't he? Can't find it on Ebay at the mo so maybe he hasn't got any in stock and just sent you those to keep you quiet - not very good business accumen.

Thats the link for the delocked handles. They are more expensive than the normal handles, so it seems that you have the right ones that you've paid for but he hasn't sent what you asked for! eeejit. :lipsrsealed:
