well I picked it up at 5 yesterday, no extra work had been done, the only advisory was that I need a new brake fluid reservoir cap...
And the noise is well and truly gone. They said the cam belts stretch a bit on miley AGG engines (maybe ABF too?) and the noise is the belt slapping against the plastic cover...
Anyway, now the car's back and re- timed, it's behaving like it's got a new cylinder!!

It wasn't bad before, but it's loads more pokey now!! Well, pokey for a mk3 (measure the speed in knots don't you?)
