drivers are cheaper and in better nick for the same price as a gti. Meaning you can get a mint driver for the same you would get a dog of a gti.

slam a gti lump into the driver 1day job straight swap in a 1.6 driver. Cheap insurance as its a driver and GTI performance under cover.

Hi,
 I've recently bought a 1.3L MK2 and am hankering after the perfomance of a GTi now.......
How much should a mint Mk2 Gti be?  How much would I be looking at if I had to replace the engine in one?

<modify>
I have just discovered the For Sale boards. Now I can see roughly what to pay

What should I look out for when looking at local motors?
