Gearbox

Car: golf 1.6 16v 2001  :nerd:

I know golfs have notchy? gearboxes .. at least so I've been told. I find that I have to be very brute with mine to get it into gear.

I was wondering is there anything I can do to make gear changing a bit easier ? some kind of kit etc ?

Sometimes I feel like I have to put a lot of effort into changing gear, not had the car long so still getting used to it. Used to drive a ford fiesta had a very easy gearbox could push the gear lever with one finger it pretty much slotted in minimal effort.

So just wondering if anything ca be done

Hi There Ivor

I had the oil changed last week, not really felt any different. The mechanic told me it had the wrong oil in it and said it needed a fully synthetic oil. So he ordered it few days later job done. But I cant say I notice any difference.

Is greasing the linkages something I could find and do ?

Thanks
