I'm getting my 1.8T chiped :)
« on: 23 February 2006, 20:08 »
Hello everyone.

I've not posted for some while but have been keeping an eye on events recently and its good to keep up to date with everyone's news. I'm about to get my Golf 1.8T chipped (APR) and would like to hear of anyone who's had their own cars chipped. I'm looking forward to the new performance and want to hear from anyone else who's done this. Is it that much of a difference really and am i right to be so excited?? i don't have many other mods apart 18" RS4 style alloys, after market dump valve and milltek cat-back exhaust.

Look forward to hearing other chipping tales

Thanks in advance!!

I didn't get mine chipped, but got OE ECU re-mapped at Jabbasport. Went from 150 bhp to 202 with no mods at that stage..... Have never looked back!

And all for only £475.

cos the jabba remap is custom to your  car, i think the revo is just a standard map thats the same for every car (correct me if im wrong)

sorry for late reply....

I've got mk4 golf 1.8T 150bhp, its an earlier 1998 model so i think rather than updating the software on the existing chip, the guy told me they would replace the chip with a new one. They said I'd need to pop around first to ensure my 'ECU code' or something was workable (takes 5mins to check with plug in software), then I'd book it in for about an hour, a bit of soldering later and hey presto....new power.

Course I'll take u for  spin Richy! i just need to get an appointment now.

will keep u up to date.
