Lowering springs?

Whats the best amount to lower my golf, as i have 18 inch a8 alloys? Is 30mm ok?

40mm with no problems, any lower and you have to change anti roll bars and things like that, but 40mm drop will be fine with your A8's

well ive got 35mm springs on mine made by PI, they are really good tbh got them brand new off of ebay.. it depends on your budget really..

if you want shocks and springs and got a few hundred saved up then i would go for coilovers,  i also hear good things about GMAX which are a little cheaper, or if your just after springs you can pick them up quite cheap on ebay, mines lowered on just springs with standard shocks and its fine..

what kind of lowering springs if there that cheap ad love to do it, if i keep the same wheels 15 inch  will it rub on the arches if its lowered if u have 5 peopel in the car of average weight?

also i currently got 195/65 /15 and tyres are wearing out so over the next 1000 miles ill be changing them if i lower it now by 25mm as u have done sugar will it rub the arches on 65's?

ive had my car fully loaded with my sub in the back and there is no rubbing whats so ever, there is LOADS of room under those arches so dont worry, but i would keep your tyres on 195/45/15 tbh it looks fine when its lowered

although i was lucky and won mine at a tenner.. but they are v.good springs for that amount of money tbh

Should be. If you are doing this as cheaply as possible use any of the springs as above.
If you want good handling and still maintain good ride comfort, then use Eibach Springs.

just purchased some eibach ones apparently there the dogs boll0ck$ when it comes to lowering springs, cost 135 inc postage and my local vw audi specialist says itll cost 100 fitted am quite happy with that except am gonna be tight for cash now student.....
