should get it soon.

Looks easy enough even for me to install. Aparantly they were a £500 upgrade when the car came out only £50 theres some cheaper ones out there but the seller info looked good.

got one in my car.

don't want to out you off but i find its great for cruising on the motor way but useless in traffic cos it sits too high  plus it gets in the way of the handbrake!!!

otherwise its a nice feature and is a useful cubby hole

I bought an arm rest off flee-gay about a year ago. It's still sitting in my boot as it needs some sort of spacer which was'nt supplied.  I got it from a place called Golfnutz. Not impressed!

Yeah, alot of the egay ones have bits missing, so i've heard from various shows.  Let us know when it arrives and if all is good post the seller on here

edit:  Just clicked the link :embarassed:, mrrabbitty goes to a lot of the VW shows and sells bits and pieces ,he seems OK, chatted with him a few times, think hes got a MK2

ok received it late this afternoon. Came really quick.

Had a look at it all and seems pretty good. Had a look at a golf today with an arm rest does look a smidge too high abd slightly shadows the handbrake. But will see how it goes tommorow when I have a go at fitting it. Looks pretty straight forward.

famous last words.

Bought it from the seller in the link. Cant fault him ... absolutely no problems.

There are some listings on ebay for other arm rests there was one from a 1.8 genuine vw one had only a minor scuff you would be able to see once fitted so it sad .... cant remember much else.

I bought an armrest from MrRabbitty. It didn't take very long to arrive and it didn't take very long to fit. I think there was an allen key missing (a nice fat one) but I have a screwdriver set so not a major problem. The only problem I had was that I buggerred up the thread on one of the parts with one of the bolts. I emailed MrRabbitty and he said he had the part in stock and would send me a free replacement, which he did free of charge -  he even covered the postage cost himself.

I do find it a little awkward using the handbrake but then, I only use the handbrake twice in a journey - off when i go somewhere and then i put it on again when i've got there!!. I have no problem changing gears with it (which some people seem to have a problem with - not sure why though).

When fitting though, just be careful with the two Torx screws that hold the rear of the centre console on. You need to use a magnetic head otherwise they will drop down and disappear forever like mine did

It's OK. I'm happy enough with it. I'll try and do pics this weekend when I fit my Rieger Illuminated Gear Knob
