Folding wing mirrors in
« on: 19 February 2006, 16:39 »
Bit embaraased asking but rather ask than brute force my wing mirrors.

car is a 2001 golf 1.6s. Has electric heated wing mirrors  and was wondering how you fold them in. Is it electrical or do you just push em' in.

Was just wondeirng as where I park I noticed a few peoples wing mirrors having been knocked off.

cheers

if they are like mine just give them a firm shove

if they move electrically have a look at the adjustment knob - you have three symbols in a row (two to adjust the glass and the middle for the heating part) and then on the far side you have another symbol.  its this that folds the mirros IF you have electrically folding mirrors - just switch the ignition on and give it a go!! if they don't move then just push them in

I find that if you gently lift underneath as you fold them back it's easier. I have to fold them in all the time to get into my garage.
