Timing belt, Water pump........anything else?
« on: 17 February 2006, 13:29 »
Hi,

I'm about to have the timing belt etc and water pump changed on my 1.8t, just wondering if there are any other aux belts in that area that I should have changed as well?

Am slightly worried that when I phoned the stealers for a quote they told me my car didn't exist on the VW database and asked if it was an import.  Don't think it is, the service book has a UK dealers stamp as the orig dealer but how can I check further?  V5 doesn't mention anything either.

PS great site and very useful.

hey I had the same problem with the VW computer not recognising my reg on my mk3,
turns out the car was supplied from new with the original owners private plate being put on the car straight out of the showroom, so by the time I got hold of it, it had an age related plate on it.

Say bye bye
