Deep dish Mk2's...
« on: 17 February 2006, 13:25 »
hey,

I'm looking for some really deep dish style wheels for a MK2 Gti, but am unsure of the exact measurements etc that would be classified as "optimum". Am guessing 15's are probably the best way to go for handling, ride quality etc but what I'm really after is a really deep dish look, with a really nice deep lip, think they look  on MK2's, low and wide!!

But what sort of offset would be the best to create this look and what sort of arch work would need doing to avoid scraping? Isn't about et35 standard, so would it need to be about 25-30 for a good wide deep look?? and also what width wheels are best, seen some with 7.5 on fronts on 8.5's on back? which would be the best combo?

Sorry for being a bit of a noob to dub wheel fitment, totally different to any other car I've owned, in the sense of what suits, IMO.

Cheers guys!!

Ben.
