Hi guys and gals. Firstly, i have just discovered this awsome website after months of waiting for Matey-Matey.com to update!!
Hope anyone doesn't mind the fact i DONT own a Golf GTI (i have just brought my 1st car so insurance is a killer
) but i DO own a 1.3 MK2 Golf.
Whilst all of my other friends have opted for the "Chav" Nova or Corsa, i decided to get the Mk2 because of the classic lines and the old skool potential of any early 'dub.
I recently purchased the 5 door, H (90) plate Mk2, and its almost finished now (just waiting to call in a few favors!!).
Firstly i replaced the interior with a full GTI spec, including doorcards (the 80's grey seats were criminal). I have also dropped it 40mm (Bilstein suspension all round) and have fitted 15" deepdish MIM alloys.
Despite calls to replace the "small" bumpers, i decided to stick with them as i think the big bumpers spoilt the shape of the Mk2 a little (what does anyone else think?
).
I have also fitted a badgeless grille, with colour-coded eyebrow, clear front and side indicators, with half smoked GTI back back lights and the GTI boot spoiler. The deep aftermarket chin spoiler and finished off with new number-plates, debadged and smoothed back panel and a twin pipe exhaust.
Hope nobody minds about it not being a GTI??? Its still looks awsome though
