...I've just got my car back from the garage after having the timing adjusted and a new distibutor head put on. They ran a compression test to make sure everything was okay and it turns out that I've got (or rather, the car's got) full compression on all four cylinders...

I must admit this meant nothing to me at first but they summed it up by saying that for a 17 year-old car with quarter of a million miles on the clock it's unheard of. They even ran the test again as they thought the machine was faulty.
I then got a lecture about looking after the car properly and spending money on it more regularly to keep it in good shape as they are becoming more scarce and more collectable.
And that's the end of my underwhelmingly dull story! Made me happy anyway.
