I was looking at that, but then the angle threw me cos its just going to sheer off the hub at that angle. However i never thought to think that it might be without the engine in, or even the suspension strut moved back.

That's sweet.
Looks like it started as a plain Mk2 5dr and became a monster.

They did remove the nasty US side repeaters though, see in the photo "where it looks pink":

It may be a sweet conversion, very clean, although those engines apparently give between 275 and 300bhp, which you could get from a smaller engine.
I really hope they didn't stick with an auto gearbox.
