Dear All,

I know some get upset about people coming on here just to advertise, however, I hope that this appeals to you and some of your members gain benefit from it.

The event is called Speedball, and it is another version of the famous Gumball rally but without the £10-40k entry fees. It is around Europe in much the same way the Gumball is, it is just as hard, just as fun and just as involved and unlike other rallies that exist just in the UK, Speedball gives you the opportunity to drive abroad and this year to drive on a track.

This year the itinerary is as follows:

Day 1:       London – Amsterdam
Day 2:      Amsterdam – Prague
Day 3:      Prague – Nurburgring
Day 4:      A day spent at the Nurburgring onto Luxembourg
Day 5:      Luxembourg – Welcome party

Entry fee is just £275 and this includes all the stickers for your car, ferry crossings, 2 embroidered shirts, the party, walkie talkies, a welcome pack, route packs and other goodies.

It is the second year the event has run and already we have a huge range of cars entered, from a Bentley, Ferrari, GTOs, Skylines to a BMW – it really is for everyone to get a taste of driving your car like it should be and a good opportunity to publicise your club!

For more information please visit http://www.speedball-rally.co.uk/ or contact us on contact@speedball-rally.co.uk

Thank you for reading

I thought canonball was the next best thing?

If u want to get it popular get yourself hosted on a seperate server (So that your not just forwarding people to a folder on warwick photography), proof-read your pages its full of errors, get loads of photos n videos up from last year.. your only address on the site is a Flat! not many people are going to fork cash out to something if it seems to be run from a bedroom (i know i wouldnt, not with it only being run once and there not being any photographic evidence of it happening). Get a p.o box postal address its only £54 annually :) Maybe also offer people the option of you sorting accomodation out for them aswell, I know i for one cant be @rsed to sort all that out! Not when for £4500 i can do the canonball and they'll get me 5star accomodation at each party.. :)

HypnoTad you are absolutly correct - the site has only just got live, I was being hassled by those that went last year to get one up so the mistakes are there, but when you work on it for so long you get blind to them

The resons why accommodation is not included is because it enables people to spend as much or as little as they wish on this. Once entered you receive a welcome pack which includes a complete list of different accommodation in the close area where each checkpoint takes place. With regard to the server, this is bought and not working - have complained to the hoster, however, they have not got back to me

I can tell you don't have a good impression of it but believe me - value for money is second to none and you say £4500 to do the Cannonball, show me people who can afford to do that for a few days away - £275 including crossings, shirts a party etc etc is slightly better value!

Well I hope that you bear with me on the spelling mistakes, but for now get on the forum and find out any information that you want - its serious value for money for a once in a lifetime opportunity

George

It is very cool. We bring with us a small camera crew and make a DVD of the event (2005 is for sale on the site), the event is in its second year and is getting better and better and will continue to do so - it is a trip of a lifetime and something you won't forget

its pretty easy to arrange one of these yourself just for golfgti.co.uk members!!

plan a trip destinations so start in london go to nurburing and then back again...

tart it up a bit add some exciting stops in between like paris hamsterdam etc.

one or two ppl take most responsibility for arranging it and taking payments for hotels etc and booking sh!t.... before long you will have a golf.gti.co.uk european cruise.!!!

the only thing is that different people will be available at different times etc etc etc.............

just an idea though would be pretty kool to see a all golf trip to nurburing!

We found that the convoying is one of the best bits - the number of people that came over when parked up and on the roads was just a great feeling

True you can do it yourselves if you want but it does help take some of teh burden away by joining an organised event - corssings are £60, 2X shirts = £50, two party tickets = £60, the route cards, the stickers - well there is your £200 already and then someone has to do a dry run to scout the trip so thats why there is an entry fee - not getting defensive but these events costs huge amounts to organise, in total I lost £1,000 last year because of the effort that went in and there is something different about doing it under a 'brand' and being a part of something - would love to get some gti's along too  :nerd:
