Golf GTI 237bhp

I have read in Car (Feb edition) that the current 2.0FSI engine will be increased to produce 237bhp. The same engine & BHP will be used in the forth coming Seat Leon Cupra.
The article suggests this will be available for the GTI from April this year.
Has anyone else heard about this or know anymore details?
I collect my VW GTI DSG in March & will be gutted if they offer an alternative with more power!

seems a bit strange if they do because the R32 is not much more than that
ask the dealership they should know

Does anyone have any info on this?
I am picking my new car up tomorrow and will not be a happy bunny if it is very soon out of date. I achieved a good discount of 6% on a UK dealer car and also another dealer offered me a similar discount on cars they had in stock......so maybe they wanted these cars away as soon as possible. All of a sudden maybe my big discount could be making sense.

I think they might be a bit aprehensive about the VXR astra, thinking people will opt for more power rather than quality, so now if that is going to happen, its the perfect package, wonder if it torque steers as bad as the astra?

Bloke in my village has a GTI with "Morego 250" on the side.
In these current slippery conditions, I only just manage to keep my standard GTI on the road!!
Another 37/50hp seems pointless to me.
Above 200 you really need RWD or AWD.
