**Tappett Treatment??**

Has anybody tryed the above?? does it make a difference?? i think Wynns do some you put in with your oil!    any advice would be good thanks

It's no too much hassle just to change them mate.

bit pricey though isnt it??, and i thought they would just go as quick because they get noiesy due to wear on the cam i thought,i replaced mine when i had an escort  Shhhhh, and they went back to how they were after a few hundred miles!! lol but worth a thought

Is that like an engine flush? I would recommend Wynn's engine flush. I used it at oil change time on an Audi 80 2.0 and it was great. Engine was well into 250k miles!

I bought some but found that after i timied my engine propperly the tappets went quiet so never used it.

IS IT JUST A CASE OF GETTING A TIMING LIGHT AND MOVING THE dIZZIE so that the timing mark lines up?? TO SET IT CORRECTLY I MIGHT TRY IT, AND YES IT IS A BIT LIKE AN ENGINE FLUSH, oops sorry bout capitals

Its not so much a flush, more of a treatment. You just add it to your oil. Not sure about the timing mate. As rubjonny im sure his huge head will know. Im thinking of asking him why we are here and how it all began.

yes timing light and line up the marks on the flywheel. do it when the car is warm & with the ISV disconnected

I had noisy tappets - prob caused by cheapo oil when I bought it, flushed engine (wynnes engine flush) changed oil and filter (synta silver and VAG filter) and added wynnes hydraulic tappet treatment, now I can't here them except on initla startup when from cold.

I guess it depends if you are going to keep the car for long, of if you have future plans for porting / polishing etc. Then you might as well do it all at the same time.
I did them on my 8v and the new ones are quiet as you like, and thats after 2k miles or so.
