Which oil?

Pretty basic really, any suggestions on what engine oil to use on a Mk3 16v thats just hit the 130k mark ??? thanks. :undecided:

Quantum silver semi synth. Its VAG's own brand. You can get it from GSF or the main dealer. GSF also sell genuine oil filters but i dont think they are much dearer at the dealers and you get a nice VAG receipt to put with your bills :cool:

Use Magnatec myself.

have used that in all my cars ever since it came out!

Used to have a '97 MK3 16v GTI 3dr in 'Black Magic'... now have a '55 Civic Type-S...

Been told that 5w-40 full synthetic meeting or exceeding the VW502.00 spec is better for it.

You can change the oil every 10,000 miles with this oil.

When they get a bit higher up on the miles dont you need something thicker? castrol magnatec 10w-40 part synthetic should be fine plus cheaper.
