Engine start button
« on: 31 January 2006, 10:01 »
Anyone ever made a start button for their MK2? I gather that the button to use is the one from a Honda S2000, which is available direct from Honda. I was going to put it possibly where the choke goes on the manual carb Golf's, but I'm not sure. Is it as easy as tapping into your ignition with some (top quality) wire? Anyone got any advice?

you basically need a flick switch which will arm your ignition and then a push switch which will crank the engine. all the wires can be taken from the iginition barrel. Be sure to cut the barrel part off else it'll lock your wheel! you need to leave half of it for the stalks to bolt onto. :)
