The current highest bidder uses this forum (illyun).

There were 71 5dr 16V G60 limiteds made, just for the record.  :nerd:

whats the bidding at now and how long left? (I cant get on ebay at work)

How the hell do you get by, not having Ebay at work? I reckong a bid of £5.5k will take it.

Ah mate Its painful there is always loads of posts, like check this out and a link to ebay and i cant look!
, it filters out anything to do with sport and leisure and also ebay, i am suprised it lets me go on the forum to be honest!

There used to be a code to get round it, thus bought a scirocco on ebay! ha ha!

£6K i think i was right in saying Double figures then!!

7k right now!  what would this car have cost brand new? seems like a hell of a lot for a car no matter what its condition.  i heard the guy took of the speedo and it had a sticker on it that said "oh no, not again"

Shadowing the auction, people get people they know to start bidding getting the price up.

Did anyone notice what the reserve was?

The guy must be really into his rare-low-milage cars, his last car eBay sale was a 'Show Winning Ford Escort RS1600 i Super Condition' with 62k miles. he bought for £5k.

I was in VW salvage yard yesterday and they were talking about this golf there also.

The reserve was £3k. Does seem odd that he's got these low, low mileage cars knocking about, yet he doesn't say he's a collector. In fact he says he only had this car for his wife!

I reckon it's going for a well over inflated price. Does any one know what the new book price would have been for this in 1991 roughly? And don't forget even if it looks good you can't really use it like a normal car, at least not till some serious running in. Fairy play you might win some concourse shows with it, but how many till you get your money back?

I think that happened to me when i bought the rocco! I was in a heated bid war, i put a high bid in for £450 but was only at £430, then in the last 10 mins the guy who i was bidding against matched my bid of £450 but coz i bid first i was winning, i emailed the guy saying i will let him have it as i had bid too much, so i said if he bids a £1 more then i will not bid anymore, he said no! But he matched my bid for £450!! so i think it was the sellers mate to be honest!

Chaps,
I know some of you will be disappointed but i am an avid :nerd: fan of E-bay and do a lot of buying and selling off this site,  over the last 5 years i have learnt 1 golden rule,  NEVER EVER PLACE A BID NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU WANT AN ITEM UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE    .
Set a limit on how much you are willing to go and ALWAYS ALWAYS,  check the bid history,  i have been keeping a keen eye on this Golf low mileage over the last few days and know for fact on the bid history that there is Phantom bidding,  thus it has stayed static for nearly 24 hours,  for a bit of fun i was going to put a bid of £6999.01 but worried that i might be landed with a overpriced classic.
Great car but hell a crazy price

If it is a 90 mph per hour wind and you drive your car at 90mph downwind, if you stick your head outside would you feel the wind?
