Just an update on this thread;  I've been onto Martin who is a top bloke and got an outstanding quote on my valver with an agreed value policy - superb!

I know insurance costs are influenced by so many factors it's hard to say what deals an individual person might get....but given Martinb a PM and get a quote, can highly recommend it :)

Don't worry Diz no offence taken. I searched for a LONG time to find my motor and looked at a lot of dogs in the process. I concluded that to get an unmolested car in the condition I wanted I would simply have to pay the price. I paid £3300 for it and at the time that is what bog standard 3dr oak green sub 100k valvers were fetching. I think I would have to spend that much again to replace it so I'm glad the agreed value reflects that.

You got any pics of your dad's split ?
