ok so i had a pierburg, which suddenly started to over rev sometimes to about 4000 for a few mins then drop to normal, so i got a few carbs including a weber which all had theyre own seporate problems but no over revving trouble, now i have a professionally refurbished pierburg set up properly and low and behold, the original problem persists, but ive learnt more about it
ok once my car is heated up it idles nicely, if i sit in neutral and give it a rev or even hold it on a high rev for a while it will always drop nicely back to where it should be, BUT if im in gear and accelarate until the revs are anywhere near 3000 then when i let go of the clutch it stays revving high for a few mins before dropping back to normal again, and i can do this again and again and it does it every time, its going into the garage for timing etc... tommorrow anyway so ill get them to see if they can work out whats up with it but does anyone here have any idea? one thing i know is its not the legendary evil o`ring as i changed that about 2 months ago along with a new gasket.... its not fair
