a micra sized car needs 1 and 1/2 litres. but he said 2 litres would be better quality.

you COULD do a 3/4 litre respray with loads of thinner, but paint wnt come out as good quality, if you use more.

The amount of paint depends how many layers you want, I used 7 1/2 litres of colour about 8 coats and 4 litres of laquer about 5 layers on my Mini when it was resprayed only used enough thinner to get it out of the gun and it was the deepest shiniest paint I've seen for a long time.

All depends what you want really 3 or4 litres on a golf will probably do about 3-4 thinnered coats so wil be relatively thin compared to show cars etc.

Get as much paint thrown on as you can afford you will not regret it, speak to hardcor3 too he's a magician!!

I would say that will set it off nicely, Also the hi build primer will fill many of the little imperfections in a 17 year old car.
This is how mine is going when it gets done more than the mini.

Three layers of hi build primer flattened down,
Three layers of standard 2K primer flattened down,
Three layers ofThe correct basecoat colour mine is silver the base really sets the paint off as it is semi transparent.
Then 9-10 coats of colour with extra metallic flake in the last two coats.
2 layers of 2k super clear metallic laquer
4 layers "glass shine" 2K laquer
Hand finished by very good bodywork guys ;)

I use House of Colours for my Laquers as they do all the American hot rod colours expensive but really really good.
My Mini nearly went electric cobalt blue but at £200 a litre it went Kawasaki violent pearlescent blue which is a really nice colour bit girly tho!!!

piccy :)
