Made my own uprated wiring loom, 100/80watt outers, 160 watt inners
clear side repeaters and front indicators
Jet black smoked rear lights
Lay flat rear wiper
Kenwood head unit 6x9's and 12 inch sub in boot

Ordered but haven't fitted yet

Weber carb 32 34 dtml

gti cam hopefully

poly bushes

Uprated springs and dampers

k an n bolt on for the weber

Back box, if i win it on ebay!!!!

Stuff i want to do

Full gti manifold and exhaust system.

Get a spare gti head and port and polish it myself

full respray in atlas grey, with bump strips deleted and smoothed

Crystal lights ( all 4) with EL tubing angels eyes in pure white

Leather interior.

Bought mine in desperation as I needed a runaround.

Paid £50 (yes £50) for it-excellent bodywork and 1.6 engine (130k), grubby but unworn interior. Only trouble was after three weeks when the clutch started slipping (replaced) and an inoperative heater.This was sorted for a tenner with a replacement heater bypass valve. Went through the MOT with no faults.

And the VW Savage wheels with excellent Goodyear NCTs were £12.50 the four via ebay. Uprated the clocks to a set with rev counter for £15 (from here).

Bought as a runaround, but love it. Handles so well, but keep thinking about uprating it, as the body and motor are so good. I'd add a photo if i knew how!

Used to have a 1976 Golf which, but i had to scrap it in 1987 because it was completely rusted out & beyond saving

1991 H Plate 1.6 Driver 5 door  in the rare metalic green colour (can't remember the name )

bought it in April 2004 with just 46K on the clock; now got 62.5K

Fitted:
New front discs and pads
Uprated headlight loom with Osram Silver bulbs
14inch BBS Alloys & 4 new tyres
LED's to the dash clocks and switches
Bee-Sting aerial
Cobra Cat 1 alarm - works nicely with my central locking

And have had many a repair bill including suspension bushes, new wheel bearings and more than one or two problems with the carb.... and a recent cambelt change

All working fine now and will be up for sale after its MOT in March

1991/2 j plate pearl grey mk2 driver,

108k 5dr, 2 new replacement doors, full nearside window glass .1 tint,
new wheels bearing and disks n rear pads. A good clean inside and out (not atm tho) Big bumpers sat in the garage,
new diaphragm to go with the carb, so i might not have to change carb,
