Im looking into de-locking my mk2 but i was told that the old lock parts would need modifying.  Is this true and has anyone done this? Is it easy? ???

If you want the delocked handle look then its pretty straightforward.

Get yourself a set of rear door handles from a 4 door car, If you look at both sets together you will notice that the operating lever that works the lock in the door is different on rear and front handles, You need to swap them over so get yourself a small drift and tap out the little roll pin that holds the lever in place.

Do this to both sets of handles and then swap the front operating levers over to the delocked rear handles by pushing the roll pins back in.

Hope this helps.

I think a slim jim is like a metal ruler with a notch cut out that you slide down the window between the glass and the rubber and the idea is the hook the norch in somewhere and pop the lock.

Thats exactly what they are, everyone screwdrivers the door locks and its so much easier to slim jim them.
the anti plates you can get from VW and I got the part numbers if anyone wants them.
